The JWO Caster Correction Offset Bushings adjust the caster angle of the front axle back towards the factory setting after lifting your G Wagon. This JWO product is 100% made in the USA and features a two piece polyurethane bushing with zinc coated steel sleeve for easy installation. Typical bushings feature an outer metal sleeve or are one piece polyurethane or rubber bushings that require pressing into place. These slide into the front radius/control arm slots from both sides so the use of a press is not necessary.

These bushings benefit the driving feel by aiding the suspension and braking system from increased forces that come after lifting your vehicle. A positive caster is required for a vehicle to function properly. Going to a negative caster angle will make the vehicle very unpleasant. We recommend these for lifts between 2-4". For lifts less than 2 inches, they may be beneficial but not typically needed. For lifts beyond 4 inches, they will most likely not adjust your caster enough.

If you have lifted your G, the front axle has twisted back. This can be an issue because now, the suspension and braking components are facing higher forces while driving. The higher you lift your vehicle, the more neutral (and ultimately negative) your caster will go. As a rule of thumb, you always want your caster to be positive. While a 2" lift doesn't change the caster all that much, it does change it towards more neutral. The closer to neutral you get, the harder it will be to control the vehicle as this greatly effects the position, angle, and alignment of essential suspension and drivetrain components. Depending on your vehicle model, the lift used, and the weight added to the vehicle, caster angle will vary but we have found a 2 inch lift to be a good threshold for adding the offset bushings.

When it comes to the W463 chassis, the control/radius arms and their bushings are fixed. This means there aren't any adjustments that can be made from the factory to fix caster. When lifting the G-Class, there's only a few options to correct this. Installing these caster offset bushings, lowering your control arm brackets, or installing new, longer control arms. Lowering the control arm brackets creates a new low spot and potential clearance problem under the center of the truck and also require cutting and welding. Longer control arms function great for offroad use but come at a much higher price. For lifts at or under 100mm or 4 inches, these are the most cost effective solution.
