The JWO Double Cardan Driveshaft Kit will alleviate vibrations at harmonic speed intervals in your G Wagon after lifting various heights.

When adding lift to your truck, we often need to correct the caster angle to increase the handling. The more caster you have, the more control you have in the steering wheel of the truck. However, as you improve the caster, the pinion angle is made worse. The pinion angle is how the driveshaft aligns to the axles. Once the pinion angle gets to a certain point, this binds the stock driveshafts and creates a vibration as the joints on the driveshaft are not able to rotate as smoothly.

We do not expect this in the 2 inch lift range but lifts beyond 2 inches which use longer radius arms are most likely to experience this vibration. Also, some higher mileage models which have worn the driveshafts in one position over long periods of time and experience a change in position after a lift upgrade can also experience this vibration.

It is most common that the front driveshaft is the culprit alone however in some cases, the rear driveshaft can also present some vibration.

Our JWO Front Driveshaft Assembly features a Dual Double Cardan Configuration which has a Double Cardan joint on both ends. This configuration is optimized for the worst driveshaft angles which the front experiences due to the caster changes. Our JWO Rear Driveshaft Assembly features a Standard Double Cardan Configuration which has a Double Cardan joint on only one side. This is because the angles on the rear axle are less severe and the angle at the rear of the transfer case is more advantageous than the front side.

Factory bolts and nuts are reused to mount the adapters onto the transfer case and axle flanges.  New hardware is provided to mount the driveshaft to the adapters. We recommend using Red Loctite on all bolts during installation.

*When installing these driveshafts, you may hear or feel a knocking noise immediately upon installation. This is expected and will go away within a few test drives.

*When adding the front driveshaft, it may also be necessary to add the Cross Member Drop Bracket for your transmission brace to avoid rubbing as this driveshaft is larger diameter than factory and the clearance becomes tighter in this area especially as the suspension travels down/droops.
