The JWO Rear Steel "Stealth" Bumper will compliment your G better than a pair of Daisy Dukes! 100% Designed and Made in the USA, this bumper has all the beef you need while keeping a low profile and accommodating all OEM features. Each bumper is handcrafted In-House and To-Order to assure optimal fitment and functionality for each G Wagon and powder coat finished in your choice of Satin Black or Textured Black.
It is important to select the appropriate "vehicle year" as our bumpers come with welded mounting brackets specific for each time frame as opposed to reusing the old factory brackets which may have worn or been damaged over time. Doing this provides optimal strength and fitment. At this time, we have not confirmed fitment to the 460 or 461 models but hope to do so when the opportunity arises.
Our bumper is the first and only offering on the W463 market to maintain Blind Spot Assist functionality (the illuminating triangle on the bottom corner of your side mirrors). Using 3D Printed plastic inserts on the sides of the bumper, the OEM sensors can be properly mounted and operate appropriately. The steel of the bumper surrounds the plastic cover still so protection remains for corner and side impact. For clients who do not have this functionality, this area will be fully steel and there will be no hole present.
For clients with the Parktronic functionality (4 parking sensors), holes are cut into the bumper and OEM pieces are used to mount into the bumper. No Parktronic? No holes.
If you have ever been stopped because "you have a reverse light out", you will appreciate the symmetry of our bumper's fully upgraded lighting. Using 2 Diode Dynamics SSC2 pods (included), you will now have reverse light and fog light functionality on both sides of the bumper. These are upgraded LED lights that will throw a cleaner white light and better light up the rear of your truck rather than reusing the OEM bulbs. LED license plate lights are also included for continuity. Please note that on a vehicle by vehicle basis, resistors or "load equalizers" may need to be added across the wiring to assure there are no error codes. This is common with any LED light swap and these should be readily available at most local auto parts stores or we can provide a link to purchase online if necessary. Be sure to test and confirm all lighting functionality before officially installing.
Constructed entirely of 1/4 inch steel, like our JWO Front Bumper, these are heavy duty bumpers. Per it's construction, rust prevention will also be simpler as there are next to no hidden areas on the inside or outside of the bumper so long term maintenance will be much easier compared to the multi piece/shelled bumpers. With all of this, the bumper will only add approximately 50 pounds to the rear of your truck compared to the factory offering. On 6000 pounds, that's a negligible change.
Finally, we added step plates to both top inner corners of the bumper to allow some grip when climbing around the back of the truck. These plates are constructed of diamond plate steel and are always included.

-Hitch Receiver Shackle Mount/D-Ring - Through our research, while our bumper is arguably the most stout offering on the market, we have found that varying G Wagon models have stronger and weaker bumper mounting points. With this, we have chosen not to include tow hooks on this rear bumper design. Instead, we recommend using the factory recovery point (underneath the bumper) or using a trailer hitch mounted shackle/d-ring for rear recovery to avoid damaging the rear of your G Wagon.
